The world of fencing has been rocked by a scandal. Fencing the sport, not the stuff you erect to keep bowzer from getting into the neighbors trash. For any heathens out there, fencing is an Olympic sport (that nobody watches--oh boy, here come the flame comments!).
According to the press, Korean foiler Nam Hyun-hee is gone from the national team after getting plastic surgery. The fearsome Korean Fencing Federation (KFF) took this action because Nam had fat injections in her cheeks without consulting her coaches. She did get permission for eyelid surgery due to "suffering from a common condition in which the eyelashes get in the way of the eyelid." Hmmm.
The coach had a great comment: "It is true she had a facelift but it was not an extensive operation like grinding the bones or reworking the whole face. She told me the surgeon encouraged her to agree to the additional surgery” Grinding bones? What bad plastic surgery procedure requires wearing down your skeleton?
"Grinding bones" may be a reference to how some Koreans get their jaw bones shaved down to make their faces look slimmer (Koreans are known for their square faces).
